Gerry Oster, PhD
In a career that has spanned more than 30 years in health & medical economics, Gerry has consulted to more than 100 US, European, and Asian pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device firms on a range of issues, including the development of value frameworks and narratives, HEOR strategy and tactics to support market access, and a range of evidence generation activities. He is the author of more than 250 published articles, and was one of the early recipients of ISPOR’s Methodologic Research Excellence award—an honor typically bestowed only on practitioners and researchers in academic institutions—for his work on one of the first pragmatic clinical trials. He received his B.A. degree (Honors) in Economics in 1970 from the University of California at Santa Cruz, and his Ph.D. degree in Economics in 1975 from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Prior to joining PAI, he was on faculty for 5 years at the City University of New York.
